David Bailey’s Webinar – “Risk and Opportunities Management – Some Examples of Good Practice” – May 2020

At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, I was asked by the North West Aerospace Alliance to give a presentation to its members on what makes a good Risk and Opportunities management process. I have been fortunate to work with some very capable people and also to have assessed the business and manufacturing processes of over 100 aerospace businesses in the UK and North America.

That combination of knowledge and experience enabled me to pull together a personal view of the good risk management practice that I have seen deployed in a number of the best aerospace and defence companies that I have been fortunate to work with. The presentation covers how risks are described, how risks are measured, and how we categorise and manage risks. For balance, I have also described how a similar approach can be used to manage opportunities. I hope this presentation provided the audience (and new readers) with a simple approach to improving your process.
